Meet Stacey vore

As individuals we are not judged by our accomplishments; but by the impact we have on others. Stacey Vore has had a lasting, life-changing impact on education and her students in the Lorain (OH) City School District. 

As a math teacher in the Lorain City School district from 1989-2023 Ms. Vore has and continues to touch the lives of countless individuals. From Her start at Whittier Middle School, her no nonsense yet empathetic approach to her students was a perfect fit. 

She taught math for 34 years, she taught her math students, equations, formulas, common denominators and all that comes with being a math teacher; but what set her apart wasn’t how or what she taught, it's what she gave. 

If a student needed the cost of the ACT covered, she gave. 

If a student needed a meal, she gave. 

If a student needed a ride, she gave. 

If a student needed someone to listen, she gave. 

If a student needed tutoring, she gave. 

In full transparency, if a student needed to be cussed out, she gave. 

She gave her students everything. 

Her firmness, kindness and dedication to her students is truly something exceptional and we hope, The Stacey Vore Scholarship, can be a small way to keep giving the way Ms. Vore has. 

She’s closely tied to the great Lorain Southview wrestling teams of the 1990’s. Which is the reasoning behind The Stacey Vore Wrestling Scholarship. Technically she managed the mat maids, concession stands, hotel reservations, and fundraisers but realistically she was a team parent to the wrestlers, who in many cases didn't have their own.
